Hinging on stages of personal transformations, my work shows the interior self outside, creating intuitive and sensual works to softly melt together subconscious dimensions of reality. I use interactive technology, video, sound, dance and multi-sensory stimulants to channel emotional and visceral expressions that are strongly themed in nature. These works often blend my Taiwanese roots, Buddhist teachings of compassion, personal history and life experiences to form installation, performance and social space.
In connection with Creative Tech Week, Brooklyn Research presents The Projected Self. The Projected Self showcases the work of four artists working in unique but parallel spaces; bound by their use of video projection as means of engaging the human body and identity in performative or interactive forms. We will host artist talks by Indira Ardolic, Yuliya Lanina, Sonia Li, and Matthew Ortega.
